DESCRIPTION:Becoming American is a six-week series of public programs created by City Lore in partnership with the Immigration and Ethnic History Society and the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience. Major funding for the project has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Free & open to the public. \n\nFebruary 11 – New York\, A Documentary Film and The Jewish Americans\nFebruary 18 – Welcome to Shelbyville [Tennessee]\nMarch 4 – The New Americans: The Nigerians\nMarch 11 – Destination America: The Golden Door\nMarch 18 – My American Girls\nMarch 25 – The Search for General Tso\n\nThe Hopewell Museum will be showing each film followed by a brief discussion in partnership with the Paris-Bourbon County Library. This film series is supported by the exhibit: Becoming American: The Immigrant Experience in Bourbon County\, Kentucky on display at the Hopewell Museum February 10-May 30.
