Hopewell Museum - Side Entrance

Our organization collects, preserves, and exhibits artifacts related to Paris and Bourbon County history and culture. We understand that donating artifacts, especially family heirlooms and other sentimental items, is not an easy decision. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our collections policy and our methods for storing and displaying artifacts.

Do you have an item you are thinking about donating to the museum? See below for how to start the process, and we thank you for considering HPBC/Hopewell Museum.

First, read the Collections Policy Outline for Prospective Donors. Second, collect any information you may have on your item as this is helpful to include with our records. Third, contact us at 859-987-7274 or email collections@hopewellmuseum.org to discuss your potential donation with the Executive Director. At this time you may be asked to complete a donor questionnaire form. Once we have this form from you we will follow up with you regarding next steps. Our Curatorial Committee votes on all donation inquiries and we will let you know their decision. Please do not bring items to the Museum to drop off without prior instruction from the Executive Director to do so.

Please note that no HPBC/Hopewell Museum docent/volunteer, curatorial committee or board member has individual authority to make decisions regarding acceptance of items into our collections. All potential collections acquisitions must be voted on by the Curatorial Committee and the Hopewell Board of Directors and at no point does any in person, verbal, or electronic conversation with an individual guarantee acceptance of your donation into our collections.
